The word magic was chosen deliberately by Dr Shepherd when she put a title to this collection of case histories taken from her own experience. She meant it to stand for the High Wisdom of the power and the forces hidden in the infinitesimal doses of homeopathic remedies.
These cases feature many disorders and diseases, including arthritis, bronchitis, the common cold, epilepsy, influenza, kidney trouble, pneumonia, rheumatism, tonsillitis ,and whooping cough. Further more the author demonstrates the efficacy of homeopathy in dentistry, obstetrics, first-aid, and veterinary medicine.
Even narcolepsy, irresistible sleepiness, can be cured by homeopathy and Dr Shepherd provides some interesting data on this strange disease which renders th sufferer liable to fall asleep while eating, reading, talking, writing or most curious of all after laughing. Difficult children also benefit from homeopathic treatment, trough fond mothers dos not always like acknowledge that their offspring are suffering from attacks of violent rage. Yet unmanageable children have been rendered docile by homeopathic remedies.
The homeopathic materials medical is full of prescriptions that fit the menopause, and Dr Shepherd devotes a chapter to the problems which can occur during the change of life, with notes of appropriate homeopathic treatment. No women need fear the menopause for the author reveals that there are no less than twenty two remedies listed on the homeopathic repertory under the heading Haemorrhages in the Climacteric Period.
Homeopathy can save people from unnecessary surgical operations and this applies especially to women, whose alimentes are so often eliminated by the king. Unfortunately it is not generally realized that even growths and tumors can be removed through the medium of homeopathy. |
